My son wanted to build an F-15 out of LEGO. I went to Claude and asked it to make an instruction booklet like LEGO's, with parts as simple as possible that we'd surely have.

I came to put it on X, but it turns out you can't upload a PDF to Twitter... so I asked it for a video of the booklet that goes page by page.

No doubt cool!

Now we'll try to get it to generate instructions for something more complex.

The original version was a post in Hebrew on X, published October 15, 2026. Here the PDFs can go up as they are.

The F-15 Eagle booklet

Cover of the F-15 Eagle booklet: a gray brick-built fighter jet with twin tails on a blue background, labeled 67 pieces, build it from your own bricks
The cover. 67 pieces, only common bricks, plates and 45° slopes.
Step 13 of the F-15 booklet: one 2x4 plate and two 2x8 plates added on top of the fuselage, LEGO-style parts callout in the corner
Step 13 of 17, with the parts callout like a real LEGO booklet.
Final page of the F-15 booklet titled Done, with a rear view and a top view of the finished jet
F-15 parts list: 67 pieces in light bluish gray, dark bluish gray and black, each with its size and part number
The parts list. Colors are a suggestion, only the shapes matter.

The problem is it gave really simple things.

Then an F-16, with more prompting

We also did an F-16, with some more prompting, and it's a more complex build.

Cover of the LEGO F-16 Viper instructions: a rendered gray brick jet on a black display stand, with side, top, front and underside views, 583 parts, 36 steps, 1:37 scale, 39 cm long
583 parts, 36 steps, 1:37 scale, 39 cm long with a 24.8 cm wingspan.
F-16 steps 1 to 4: the fuselage built in layers from the belly up, new parts outlined in red, two of the steps seen from below
Steps 1 to 4. Built in layers from the belly up, new parts outlined in red.
F-16 steps 33 to 36: the canopy, the vertical tail and the black display stand
First page of the F-16 parts list: 583 pieces in 71 lots, each with a BrickLink part ID and color
The parts list comes with BrickLink part IDs.
