Give Claude Code Your Client Emails and Call Transcripts: devlog 0.2.0

This week I was getting ready to start planning and implementing a new feature in a project for a client, and right away I got the brakes from Claude. It told me this was blocked and waiting on a decision from the client.

And it was right. It came up on a call two weeks ago and I forgot.

The original version was a post in Hebrew on X, published August 27, 2026.

How did Claude Code know the feature was blocked?

The reason it knew: in my latest project I started recording all the calls with the client and transcribing them, and also saving in the project all the emails that go back and forth. There's so much information there that gets lost, and I wanted it to be part of the project and not in my head.

So I upgraded my devlog package to support both. Version 0.2.0 is up on GitHub.

What's in devlog 0.2.0

  • Every email sits in docs/emails/, date first, with the text as it was actually sent and not as it was drafted.
  • Client replies are saved next to the original and transcribed word for word, question after question. Questions that weren't answered are recorded as "no answer", so even the silence doesn't get lost.
  • Inline replies with strikethrough are read from the PDF, because text extraction drops the strikethrough and a struck-out line means exactly the opposite.
  • Call transcripts are archived untouched, and read to the last line before a summary is written (the proof is the line count, because it already happened that a summary was written from the first half).
  • A summary email goes out the same day and becomes the binding record. The decision row cites the email first and the transcript after it.
  • Decisions the client made are attributed to them by name, with a reference to the file and the question number.

On top of that, a workplan for every call with routes for each feature, and a blocked-on-client tracker.

How are the calls transcribed?

Locally on my Mac with a package I wrote. Hebrew and English, including speaker separation. The full flow is in Local Speaker Diarization with Whisper and pyannote.
